Today I have a confession to make, please don’t judge me.
I am not a huge fan of S. Valentine’s.
To be perfectly honest, during my single-life years a friend and I nicknamed it St. Hell’s and the monicker has sticked well into my married years. Ask my husband what he thinks about eating in a restaurant on February 14th and he could get very animated! The truth is that I hate being told what to do by society and media, particularly when it’s that I have to love somebody on a particular day. Just like I’m a believer that there’s nothing magical about January 1st, I strongly believe that any day is good enough to begin the rest of your life.
That being said, there’s no better way to help Google find content than go with a little bit of mainstream, so I thought this week was a good, timely moment to post a selection of my favorite engagement rings. Whether you plan on proposing tomorrow, next week, in a couple of weeks or in a month, to a man or to a woman, you should find this article useful!
First of all let me tell you that I think any ring would make a great engagement or promise ring.
Whatever you and your partner are comfortable wearing, whatever suits your style and taste, is in itself the best ring for you. Like your wedding attire this is very much a matter of personal choice, in my opinion. This is also why I really love the rings that Luca Caracciolo crafts, they suit so many tastes and styles that anybody can find their ring. This post is going to revolve around a selection of his work, not because this is a sponsored post (it most certainly isn’t) but because I really think his work lends itself to so many employs and because when I find a vendor I like I’m very happy to share them with you.
Let me introduce you to my three favorite engagement/promise rings, for boys and girls, from the My Golden Age lab!
The engagement or promise ring for minimal men/women
This ring is simplicity in itself. Purely simple 18k gold crafted in a tiny band. It lend itself to be exchanged or gifted and although it doesn’t allow for engraving I feel like it’s incredibly special.
I don’t know why, but to me, the smaller the ring the bigger and more significant are the emotions behind it. If you and your partner are like me this ring will be perfect to give and to wear, reminding yourself and each other of the commitment you’ve made to one another.
The engagement ring for the super romantic type
If your partner is a true romantic, this ring is perfect. I honestly adore it… and I’m not even that romantic myself! A rose gold band with a blue sapphire encircled by diamonds… perfection.
This ring sits well on a slender, elegant finger and is ideal for a heartfelt proposal like one of these or these.
The engagement ring for modern gals/guys
A tiny black diamond in a yellow gold ring is such a modern twist on the stereotypical solitary diamond engagement ring. I love that it can work for both men and women, because the rose cut is so simple and clean that it sits well on any hand.
Choose this ring if you and your partner like modern hip lines and details. It will compliment your hands magnificently, and make a lovely statement about your love for each other.
So, what do you think? Did you like my favorite rings? What are yours? I’d love to read about it in the comments below!
