The new fatamadrina lands in 2016

18 November 2015 by Barbara Leave a Comment

2015 was a truly fabulous year. I had the pleasure and honor of accompanying some fantastic couples down the path to their weddings, and beyond. For as it often happens, those who were clients are still very much a part of my life.

It was also the year that made me realize that as much as some of my talents felt as if they needed more diversified outlets than weddings, my soul and my purpose still were deep down solely devoted to helping people enjoy the freedom of having their lives just the way they want it, including their wedding.

So I did what you do when you’re committed to a purpose, I invested in a major rebranding strategy which has now reached its execution phase. As exciting weddings for 2016 line up (I will be traveling to Santorini, Mexico and New York, as well as welcoming couples to Tuscany and my own region, Emilia Romagna) my team and I are now working on completing my new logo and branding image, as well as building the new website. Everything will come to light later in 2016, hopefully by Spring, just in time for wedding season to begin.

The truth is, this rebranding is far less about me choosing a new outfit than it is about providing a better service to you. By making it clearer who I am, what I stand for and why I do what I do the way I do it, I will make it easier for you to find me. If you’re free-spirited bohemian spirits, with a strong sense of your selves, you will immediately recognize fatamadrina as the person who can help you let those selves shine through your wedding festivities. There will be no wondering whether I might try and impose any tradition, style or etiquette principle on you that doesn’t feel right to you. There will be no worrying that I might be more concerned about my own portfolio being coherent than about channeling your personalities into your celebration. As soon as you will land on my website you will immediately feel that I will be first and foremost your “fairy godmother” (that’s the meaning of ‘fatamadrina’ in Italian), sheltering you from social conventions, supporting you as you let your love shine through your Big Day.

Now, to make all that happen, I will need to take some time off marketing. If you landed here hoping to find out more about me before hiring me, please do go ahead and drop me a line so I can book you a free preliminary consultation, that is definitely the best way to start getting to know me. If you’re interested in my services for 2016 please note that June is already fully booked, while I have limited availability in September and October. The best way to keep tabs on me will be following me on Instagram (that’s where it’s happening these days anyway, right?!), that’s where I’ll preview my logo and new website, too.

Before I bow out, let me just show you a little something I did last year, which has been published on Fly Away Bride. This inspiration shooting is the first of a series based on colors and it draws on a story of female love. The model, Julia, had the task of portraying two brides who’d fell in love by the sea and would get married by Lake Orta.

There is so much of fatamadrina in this project, but it wouldn’t have happened without Paola Colleoni coming to me with the original idea then taking the pictures, Serena Poletto Ghella designing and styling the outfits, Stella Mongodi making up and styling Julia, Ara Marvin designing the stationery, Sofia Barozzi creating the bouquet and Julia lending her personality to our vision.
